Syracuse men’s lacrosse earned the No. 4 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will take on Towson in the opening round on May 12 in the JMA Wireless Dome. If SU defeats Towson, it will take on the winner of No. 5 seed Denver and Michigan.

Towson is one of the hottest teams in the country, winning nine straight games. The Tigers defeated Delaware 15-6 in the Coastal Athletic Conference championship to earn an automatic NCAA Tournament bid. Towson also holds the best defense in the country, letting up only 8.6 goals per game.

The Orange are coming off a lopsided 18-13 loss to Duke in the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. SU defeated the Blue Devils 10-4 earlier in the season, but Duke led 9-2 after the first quarter and Syracuse never recovered.

Despite the disappointing loss to Duke, it’s been a turnaround season for the Orange. SU defeated four ranked teams in 2024, including No. 3 seed Johns Hopkins, No. 2 seed Duke and No. 6 seed Virginia. The Orange also finished above .500 in the ACC for the first time since 2018.

No. 1 seed Notre Dame, No. 5 seed Denver, Michigan and Penn State round out Syracuse’s side of the bracket.
