Syracuse football recruiting: Class of 2018 linebacker Tre Allison commits to Syracuse

Class of 2018 linebacker and running back Martrevious “Tre” Allison committed to Syracuse on Sunday, per his Twitter. Allison flipped his commitment from Southern Methodist University.

Allison is 6-feet, 1-inch tall and 212 pounds, per 247sports.com, and is a three-star prospect in its composite rankings. Playing at John Tyler (Texas) High School, Allison had scholarship offers from SMU, Mississippi State and Louisiana Lafayette, among others. SU extended a scholarship offer on Dec. 5.
It takes Allison 4.6 seconds to run the 40-yard dash, per his Hudl.com profile. He also has a 30.2 inch vertical leap. Allison had 89 tackles in 2017, per 247sports, bringing his career total to 264.
The linebacker position is also a need for Syracuse going forward, as starting linebackers Parris Bennett, Zaire Franklin and Jonathan Thomas, along with graduate transfer Austin Valdez, are all gone next season. Syracuse has two linebacker commits in the Class of 2018 in three-stars Juan Wallace and Ja’Qurius Smith. Track the rest of Syracuse’s Class of 2018 here.
