Former Syracuse defensive back Naesean Howard was arraigned on Friday morning following his charge for trespassing on Syracuse University’s campus Wednesday night.

Howard, 20, was indicted in May on assault charges for allegedly stabbing current Syracuse football players Chauncey Scissum and Corey Winfield at a South Campus party on April 16.

Howard was in court for a hearing Wednesday regarding the incident and, according to Syracuse.com, was ordered to avoid the SU campus. He reportedly told the judge he “feels safer in jail,” and that he would “mix it up” if he wasn’t put in jail.

“Your wish came true,” the same judge told Howard Friday morning, according to Syracuse.com.

On Wednesday night, Howard entered Sims Hall and remained there unlawfully, violating an order that Howard must stay away from Scissum and Winfield, per Syracuse.com. Bail was set at $500 cash or $1,000 bond by Judge Kate Rosenthal, according to Syracuse.com, but Judge Anthony Aloi is holding him on no bail, meaning for now Howard cannot be released. He is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
