Attack/midfielder Henry Grass to transfer to Syracuse men’s lacrosse from Johns Hopkins

Syracuse head coach John Desko has a successful recent history of bringing in transfer attacks. Henry Grass will transfer to SU from Johns Hopkins.
Johns Hopkins attack/midfielder Henry Grass will transfer to Syracuse, a source confirmed to The Daily Orange. Ty Xanders of Recruiting Rundown first reported the news.
Grass did not play in a single game as a freshman for the Blue Jays this past season. Entering the year, he was ranked as the 38th-best incoming freshman in the country and the 12th-best freshman attack by Inside Lacrosse. He was an Under Armour All-American as a senior at Bronxville (New York) High School.
Syracuse will need to replace starting attacks Dylan Donahue and Tim Barber due to graduation. Several attacks have transferred to SU and found success recently. Donahue transferred from Air Force while Barber came from Onondaga Community College. Prior to this past season, Nick Mariano transferred from Massachusetts before moving to midfield.
The Orange finished 2016 with a 12-5 record. SU lost in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament to Maryland, pushing its national championship drought to seven years.
