A car slid into a tree, taking out a stop sign at the corner of Livingston Avenue and Clarendon Street late Monday afternoon.
The driver of the green 2002 Volkswagen Jetta was trying to make a right turn onto Livingston Street at 4:45 p.m. and began to hydroplane, Syracuse Police Department Sgt. Gary Bulinski said. The airbags deployed, though the driver and two passengers — all 20-year-old Syracuse University students — weren’t injured, he said.
The front-side of the car and hood was heavily damaged in the impact.
No tickets were issued in the accident, Bulinski said.
The driver and the two passengers declined to comment.
